Living Well and Spending Less: Staycation at Urban Manor Hotel

ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ, PHILIPPINES – Residing and working at the same time at one of the country’s booming cities makes me want to escape from the hustle, bustle, and day-to-day responsibilities. However, the hardest part of trying to relax is letting go of all the everyday obligations and distractions that bombard us.

Sometime this month, a friend of mine named Aphrodite S. Cruz invited me for an overnight staycation at one of Roxas City’s newest business hotel. So, without any hesitation I grabbed the opportunity.

Urban Manor is nestled inside Pueblo de Panay Township, the emerging commercial business district in Roxas. It is the smart choice for business travelers and even for those travelers on a tight budget. The 2-storey hotel is offering 21 well-appointed rooms, all designed with the guests’ comfort and its facilities are wrapped in classic and modern interiors. Recently, the hotel has also made several changes, adding some rooms at the nearby Annex Bldg. offering dormitory type accommodation ideal for large groups on a very reasonable price.

The hotel’s lobby is not that impressive but it makes up with its simple and clean interior design and beside the lobby is The Lounge Restaurant, hotel’s F&B outlet which can accommodate a maximum of 40 guests. On the other side, there’s a function room with audio-visual facilities which can accommodate 150 – 180 guests for special occasions.

Leading to our room which is located on the 2^nd floor of the building, you’ll be able to pass by a mural painting on the stairs featuring Hinulugan Waterfalls of Pilar, Capiz setting a relaxing atmosphere. While on its hallways, there is a slight change of approach as they are using intimate lighting.

Staying on Superior Room (Twin) with 2 Single Beds

        The price of our room is reasonable enough based on its amenities. Inclusions of our room includes: Complimentary breakfast for 2 persons, 32” flat screen TV with cable connection, telephone, free WiFi-internet access, hot and cold shower and individual controlled A/C. With all these amenities guests are guaranteed of a comfortable stay. Another great thing, the room is spacious; spacious enough for the two (2) of us moving around without unnecessarily bumping into each other.

The next day we planned to wake up late but to avail the free breakfast which is usually served at The Lounge Restaurant, hotel’s F&B outlet from 0600H-0900H we requested it to deliver it on our room with a minimal service charge of Php 20.00. Thus, a literal breakfast in bed for the two (2) of us while making our staycation more relaxing.

          All in all, I highly recommend this hotel for its complete and clean amenities, great location and of course a budget friendly hotel which gives a value for money.
