In 2012, Boracay Island was hailed
as the best overall island out of all the islands in the world according to the
Travel + Leisure Magazine and even ranked
15th as the ‘Best Island in the World: Reader’s Choice Awards 2015’ by Condé Nast Traveler. Boracay is a tropical island paradise located
in Malay, Aklan, Philippines and it is only approximately 7 kilometers long and
less than a kilometer wide at its narrowest point resembling a dog bone shape. Boracay
Island is famous for its White beach because of its pristine beach with powdery
fine sand. White beach is composed of three sections: Station 1 (the
northernmost section which has the widest beachfront), Station 2 (where
commercialism takes place; the place where you eat, dine, shop and party) and
Station 3 (the southernmost part, the quieter part). Furthermore, this island
paradise is also famous for its wide array of cuisines and nightlife making
each tourist stays close to perfection.
Boracay Island is my place to be
whenever I’m fed up from hustle and bustle of city life. It is the place where
I feel renewed and relaxed that’s why I make sure that at least once a year I
can visit the island. In my recent visit on the island, I discovered something
worth recommending and it’s the Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds. This is where I and
my friends stayed for a 3 day – 2 night summer vacation.
Currently ranked as # 2 among 206 Boracay B&B and Inns on TripAdvisor, Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds is a family-run
no frills guest house perched atop of a hill and centrally located along the
main road in Station 2 (between the world’s famous White beach and Bulabog
beach). Since it is located in one of the highest points in the island; one
need to scale a short set of uphill stairs from the main road. Though it’s
quite an exercise, there’s a promise awaits for every guest. Each and everyone
are welcomed by a refreshing garden view and sweet smiles and enthusiastic
greetings from staff.
Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds
has 28 meticulously conceptualized and professionally designed bedrooms and it
is divided into 5 different types of accommodation – Superior, Superior Double, Deluxe, Family
Room and Family Room with View. Given its name “agos” which means “to flow”, it
guarantees everyone to have an atmosphere of freshness.
Room Amenities,
Facilities and Services
The rooms in Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds have been proven to be comfortable and
relaxing. It uses warm colors, intimate lighting, and use of wood as well as
indigenous materials which exudes a modern Asian vibe. In fact, their full
length windows is a sight as all of which can be opened if you want a natural
flow of air. In addition, you have also an option to use the ceiling fan or the
window type air conditioning unit.
On the other hand, each room is also equipped with a personal refrigerator, cable LED TV with premium channels,
hot and cold shower, water kettle for coffee and tea, etc. Other amenities
include fresh linen, bottled water, towels and toiletries including dental care
kits and safety deposit box. Wi-fi is also available on ground
floor and 2nd floor. They are also arranging airport transfers and
island activities as well as laundry services and in-room massage.
Moreover, the bathroom in the deluxe room is
something also to look for, as there is a small space at the back where you
could hang your wet clothes. Brilliant idea! It guarantees each guest for a
worry-free stay. In contrast, Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds do not have an in-house restaurant but
popular eateries and fast-food joints are within a few meters away.
It was past lunch time when we
arrived in Boracay Island and we directly went to Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds to check-in. The moment we arrived, we
were greeted with sweet smiles and warm greetings by the staff. Right after
we’ve arrived and while waiting to finish the check-in process, we were given
wet towels for us freshen up since it was too hot that day and it was accompanied
with bars of ‘chocnut’ for some sweet treat. It may look simple but it’s a big
plus factor for me because it creates warm impression of hospitality. Take
note: Check-in process is fast and efficient. In less than 15 minutes, we were
already on our room.
Now, it’s time to see our room. We
were given deluxe room and I was impressed with its facilities because it’s
almost complete and very spacious (28 sq.m.) plus it smells clean and
refreshing. The deluxe room has 2 double beds with comfortable mattresses with
right firmness. Plus, I find their white sheets and blankets fresh and clean
including their huge fluffy pillows as it gives every guest an engaging feel
and a comfortable sleep.
Furthermore, their rooftop sundeck
beholds a promise of overlooking view of White beach and Bulabog beach
especially during sunrise and sunset horizons. With its cozy environment, quality
customer service and top-notch facilities, no doubt that this is one of Boracay
Island’s jewel in hospitality industry. A visit in Boracay doesn’t need to be
always in the beachfront. Sometimes, you have to see it by heart. Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds is love.
All in all, my friends and I had a
very satisfying stay. I admire the daily basis of cleaning the room including
the changing of linens plus the homey and comfy ambiance. I even salute their
very honest staff for not taking anything from my wallet since I accidentally left
it on the bed when they cleaned our room.
Room rates are very competitive knowing its amenities and services.
Wi-Fi connection is available but it gets unstable from time to time.
However,
with this kind of services and operating only for more than 2 years in the
industry, they have made a remarkable mark through its patrons and getting
positive feedbacks and earning recognitions from various groups in the industry
such as TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Award for two (2) consecutive years TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, Agoda Gold Circle Award and Booking.com Excellence Award which helped them make it to the Top 15 B&B/Inns in the Philippines.
